The Reason -
Having seen how this material performed during development, from a design perspective I knew, finally, we could build strength into particular areas of those rods without compromising action. Anytime this had been tried before had always ended up with an overly high proportion of breakages, particularly in the vulnerable area around the top joint [4 piece rod] or in the butt, however, the very different qualities of this material has presented us with an opportunity to design a rod which would be equally at home with both short and long lines.
But to answer your question, the Zenith range has an action more atoned to the “S” series, which is why we have rigged them with ring spacing’s and handle lengths accordingly. However, when loaded with a long belly line they also have the qualities needed to handle them; a tip and third section strong enough to deal with even a badly timed cast and the butt flexible enough to let the rod load deeply with even a mediocre casting technique. Although we have “Optimum” casting weights marked on the rod, those are guidelines only. Those rods cope so well with a wide range of casting weights. For instance, I personally like the 12’6” rod with a short and relatively light line, 38 feet @ 30g or even less, this utilises the mid and upper sections of the rod but is not heavy enough to fully flex the rod. A long belly line will fully flex the rod but not compromise the more fragile tip and third sections.
In essence, because of the durability of this material, we can now do things in design we could only dream of before.
Most people will find Zenith rods will be more suited to short head lines, so “S” rather than “T” but the design is somewhere between the two.
Hope this helps guys. Sorry again for the delay.

I second that question!
